Russia says 38 Ukrainian drones intercepted in Crimea

According to Russian officials, 38 Ukrainian drones have been intercepted in Crimea. The drones were allegedly flying over sensitive military areas in violation of international law.

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) released a statement saying that the drones were equipped with surveillance equipment and were attempting to gather intelligence on Russian military activities in the region.

This latest incident has further escalated tensions between Russia and Ukraine, both of whom claim ownership of Crimea. The two countries have been locked in a conflict since Russia annexed Crimea in 2014.

Ukraine has denied any involvement in the drone incidents, calling the Russian claims “provocative” and “unfounded”. The Ukrainian government has accused Russia of using the drone interceptions as a pretext to increase its military presence in Crimea.

The international community has called for restraint on both sides and urged a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Crimea. However, with tensions continuing to rise, the situation remains volatile.
